Expertise
  • Dr. Premitha uses the evidence-based approach in the diagnosis and management of cancer, and her expertise lies in head and neck malignancies, brain tumours, gynaecological malignancies, thoracic, gastrointestinal tumours and urogenital malignancies and lymphomas.
  • She is well-versed in providing advanced diagnostic support and administering radiotherapy techniques, such as 3D CRT, IMRT, IGRT, TomoTherapy, SBRT, SRS (CyberKnife) and Brachytherapy various sites and organs, such as gynaec malignancies, head and neck, soft tissue sarcomas, skin malignancies, anorectal cancers and esophageal cancers. 
  • She is also experienced in administering hyperthermia with radiotherapy and chemotherapy for a few hypoxic large cancer lesions and is also well versed in Total body irradiation (TBI), which is used as preparation and conditioning before stem cell transplant or bone marrow transplant in leukaemia and lymphoma. 
  • So far, Dr. Premitha has handled more than 13000 cases.

  • Dr. Premitha is a member of the European Society of Medical Oncology and the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India.
  • Dr. Premitha has conducted extensive research on prostate cancer and immune responses to radiotherapy.
  • She regularly takes part in cancer awareness programmes, medical camps and campaigns that promote cancer awareness.
  • She is involved in teaching programs for post graduates in radiation oncology and radiotherapy technology training courses.
  • She is the associate professor for the RTT Allied health course of RGUHS, Bengaluru. 
  • She is also involved in guiding the postgraduates in their research paper activities.
