In the story Mr. Raj shares his expectations from budget like reduction in customs duties and GST on equipment, reagents and consumables used for cancer diagnostics, and anti-cancer drugs. Allocating resources for scaling up HCWs and equipping them with trained staff and screening tools for early detection and accurate staging of cancer.
He further insists including PET scans, biopsies, genomics, targeted therapy, immunotherapy etc, under all government schemes and also that budget should shift healthcare discourse to value, standard protocols and comprehensive treatment coverage.
