Dr. Rajeev Sharan is the senior consultant – surgical oncology and the head of the head and neck oncology at HCG EKO Cancer Centre, Kolkata.
He has more than 19 years of experience in head and neck surgical oncology and thyroid surgery, working in premier institutions like AIIMS, New Delhi, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin and Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata.
Dr. Rajeev was working as a Senior Consultant in Surgical Oncology (Head &Neck) in Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata and had been associated with this institute since inception before joining HCG EKO Cancer Centre, Kolkata. He is one of the best head and neck cancer and thyroid surgeons in Kolkata and the Eastern Region of India.

Training and Certifications

Dr. Rajeev has received hands-on training in Transoral thyroidectomy on cadaver from Chinese University, Hong Kong.
He has completed his robotic head & neck surgery (TORS, neck dissection) and thyroidectomy cadaveric workshop and 2 weeks observership in Yonsei University, Seoul, under Prof. Koh, Prof. Choi and Prof. Kim in 2016
He has also completed his training in endoscopic thyroidectomy (Axillary breast approach with CO2) from the National Hospital of Endocrinology, Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2015.
Dr. Rajeev has also completed his robotic console surgeon training from a reputed institute in Hong Kong.

He has several publications to his credit in reputed national and international journals in various aspects of head and neck oncology, robotic/endoscopic scarless neck surgery and microvascular reconstruction.
He has been invited as a faculty, speaker and panellist in different national and international conferences.
He has served as a reviewer for various national and international journals.
He is also known to have performed the largest series of robotic/ endoscopic head & neck and thyroid surgery in Kolkata and Eastern India.
Dr. Rajeev has been a part of the organising team for the CURE Thyroid: open/endoscopic/robotic live thyroid surgery workshop.
He was the first surgeon to perform retroauricular robotic thyroidectomy in Eastern India.
He was the first to perform retroauricular endoscopic hemithyroidectomy in Eastern India.
He was also the first to perform retroauricular endoscopic neck dissection for oral cancer in Eastern India.
Dr. Rajeev has been awarded FAIS from the Association of Surgeons of India.
He was also the recipient of the Times Bihar Healthcare Achievers 2015 Award for Oncology.
