Expertise

• Dr. Shishir Shah has experience in performing all cancer surgeries, with a special interest in minimally invasive thoracic oncology and gastrointestinal oncology surgeries.
• He has a special interest in treating advanced ovarian cancer and other potential surface malignancies with various peritonectomy procedures and HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy). He is focused on comprehensive management of these cancers with good long term outcomes.
• Dr. Shah has approximately attended 1000 cases so far.

Training and Certifications

• Dr. Shah has received training in complex thoracic, gastrointestinal and hepatopancreatobiliary oncology surgery from National Cancer Centre, Tokyo, Japan (2017).
• He also trained in various peritonectomy surgeries and HIPEC for various peritoneal surface malignancies, especially ovarian cancer at Lyon, France under Prof. Olivier Glehen (2018).

Recognition

• Dr. Shah is a member of the Association of Surgeons of India, Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, Society of Peritoneal Surface Oncology India and Indian Medical Association.
• He is also a part of various academic initiatives of the centre, such as fellow teaching and training, attending academic meetings and running CMEs for doctors on recent advances in oncology.
